I went to the library and picked up a few books on photo editing. What I have learned is that I still have a lot to learn. There is so much that can be done with photoshop, and pictures can be endlessly edited. I read through a few chapters here and there, and picked up a few new skills. Then I decided to try out what I learned on one of my recent pictures:
I was pretty impressed with myself when I was done, I brightened the picture, edited colors, added a nonexistent sky, fixed my skin, and the bags under my eyes. I think I did ok. :) I turned a so-so snap-shot into a pretty good lookin picture of me and my hubby.
